Proof with induction on a sequence

Let {ak}k=0 be a sequence where

  • a0=0
  • a1=0
  • a2=2
  • k3,ak=ak/2+2

Show that every element of this sequence is even.

I am stuck on the induction step, and can't seem to prove that an is even a(n+1) is even . Could someone please give me some hints.
